The place : Restoran BnY Chinese Cooking & Steamboat - not a very creative name - but probably belongs to a loving couple and made from their names (curiosity will eventually reveal their names!) and serves Shanghainese food.
If anyone is keen to try Shanghainese food, there's one in our community.
SJ (and Ulu SJ) do have great choices, don't we! I have tried the food twice here and I intend to visit again - it still has quite a number of interesting food on its menu. Reasonable prices too.
Ask for their truly Shanghainese fish - re-stuffed and boneless.
Even their "Tomatoes in Eggs" is done their style.

Re-stuffed and boneless fish! Now that's interesting... Must try this place one day...SOON! The only boneless fish I know are fish fillets. Ah, another fave is cotton fish. It's good deep fried because the bones become so crispy, you can practically eat the whole fish, including all bones!
Somehow I don't quite remember boneless fish in Shanghai...but I remember the eggs in tomato! Another popular dish in Shanghai would be xiaolongbao. Is this available at the shop too? The ones I had in Shanghai wasn't much to shout about...
Xiao Long Bao? One of the better ones I've had, is at this place called Din Tai Fung in Taipei. The soup in the Bao is thick and yummy, while the Bao skin is not overly thick and rubbery.
But there is a price to pay off course while all Good Eats. This place (near the 101 building) has a wait time average of one and a half hours. I am not exaggerating as here the people come literally in the bus loads.
Drooling? Not to fret, you do not have to pay RM1500 to fly there and sample their fare. The enterprising Taiwanese owner has opened a branch not too long ago in Mid Valley.
Need to find time to review their restaurant next.
I have not tried this one yet. This is just a few blocks away from our house,right? Why haven't I noticed it?
Must go there when I am back in December.
