With great sadness, on behalf of the Woo family we would like to convey to the treasure hunting community of Vincent's demise in the early morning of 8 July 2009.
Vincent was a family member to the Hunters R Us and a good friend to many of us, and we will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held from 8:00pm 8 Jul 2009 to morning of 10 Jul 2009 at Nirvana, Jalan 229, Section 51A, Petaling Jaya.

I am sad to receive news of Vincent's demise. He was like an older brother to me, always having words of encouragement for me. Amongst the many things, I will always remember his telling me after hunt results, "Don't worry, there is always the next hunt." when I did not do well.
After receiving the news this morning, I am reminded of a hymn that goes like this:
There is a land that is fairer than day,
And by faith we can see it afar;
For our Father awaits over the way,
To prepare us a dwelling place there.
We shall sing on that beautiful shore,
The melodious songs of the blest;
And our spirits shall sorrow no more,
Not a sign for the blessing of rest.

I went outstation to Keningau and did not have access to the net. Yesterday morning, I received a call from Mike who informed me of this very sad news.
This afternoon, during my long drive back to KK, I started thinking about Vincent.
It was about 2 years ago when I visited the Riddle Raiders' blog where I met "ce5nt" for the very first time. He was a master hunter of no mean ability. He immediately earned my admiration when he solved the first riddle with NASI KANDAR. I was also very impressed with his generosity in imparting his wealth of knowledge in treasure hunting to the readers of that blog.
Well, we went on to become the main stars of the Riddle Raiders blog, together with his team mate, VK Chong; and then later on his other team mates also joined in the fun. That seemed like a very long time ago; yet it's been only about 2 years.
Soon after that, I met "ce5nt" for the first time in person during the Bloggers' Hunt, which he co-clerked with VK Chong. That was the beginning of a special friendship. We have since hunted together several times - even all the way up north, to Penang. We shared hotel rooms together and exchanged opinions and ideas about treasure hunts into the wee hours of the morning.
Last year, when a hunt in KK was cancelled, I had the honour to organise an unofficial hunt for my friends which Hunters "R" Us also joined.
It is such a shame that this had to end so soon. Vincent's passing is a great loss to the treasure hunting fraternity, but also as a very good friend to all of us here.
May I offer my condolences to his family and Hunters "R" Us. May he rest in peace.

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank all of you for your support.
It is indeed very touching to know that my dad has touched all of your lives in one way or another.
Continue to remember him as how you know him best.
His journey on earth has ended but he started a new journey in a better place, up in Heaven with God.
As an ardent Liverpool fan himself, he knew that he was never walking alone.
He would also love to see the treasure hunting community continue to hunt for treasures and make treasure hunts more challenging for the intelligent minds.

Vincent Woo's youngest daughter
I was simply lost for words and deeply saddened to hear about the death of my dear friend Vincent. It is times like this that I most feel the physical distance that separates me from you and others of my friends. I would feel so much better if I could attend his funeral on Friday and convey my condolence in person.
Vincent was such a kind, gentle soul. Vincent would do anything for me. Vincent did! Vincent would do anything to help someone in need. Vincent was a thoughtful and generous friend and we managed to corrupt his beautiful mind. He would allow us to and gladly. Soon he was corrupting our mind too - 10X worst! Always a good laugh with him! I would roll on the floor giggling away hysterically and he remains calm, collected, and continue on with his story.
I think back and I remember:
* those crazy days, months, quarters and two years getting A&H sorted. We can never please Ms. Khoo Ai Lin! Can we? "Give us a break Ai Lin!", Vince would say. Then Ai Lin gives in. He is Ai Lin's soft spot.
* the late nights working with him and team until the wee hours in the morning and sending everyone home in my CRV. He always the first to get off - to the LRT station!
* the carton boxes we laid out to signify the paper flow and what about the pigeon holes!
* the bar codes he created and he brought his own bar code reader. All submissions were bar-coded!
* Reconciliation and reconciliation! A whopping $11.7m reconciled and finally booked.
* the times we walked up and down the banks to set up bank panel for A&H credit card payments.
* working along side him was always a learning experience.
* Then Operations and CSG... the implementation, the coordination, the precision, the communication, the stabilization, the consistency until the Pros took over to the next level
I love our lunch time together, our battles, our laughter and smiles, our frown times, our classroom times (Vincent and I played teachers, IT experts, trainer (giving typing lessons), teaching English, reading, writing "complaint" letter) and just plain "WOW" time. We moved workstation and created the customer service counter within the 16th floor in Capital Square for A&H within 3 hours! It was endless with him.
Vincent was such a terrific friend. It would be difficult to measure the impact he has had on the many people's lives he touched, personally and professionally. I will miss him dearly.
