MAnis sanGAT DI HATI: KNOWING OUR RINGGIT AND SEN

I am quietly confident that not many in our population are familiar with what appears on both sides of our ringgit and sen. Interestingly enough these are items that we touch and handle almost on a daily basis. Most people, I guess, just can't be bothered to acquire this seemingly useless piece of trivia.

During a recent treasure hunt, I came across a well crafted clue which had required this knowledge in order to derive the solution.

I have long appreciated the fact that a cryptic clue does not need be overly complicated through an expansive use of keywords and/or rarely used words from the dictionary, in order to deceive the hunters. A frugal sentence with a cunning choice of words will simply do the trick.

This simple clue had stumped many hunters, including some very good hunters in the fray. Enjoy!

Q: Top is on the head.
A: Lima Sen.
